With one voice. Let us say we will do things your way. Yes, Lord. We'll do what you say.
[00:00:31] Speaker B: Welcome to the Way of Life program. The Way of Life is designed to draw us into a deeper fellowship and knowledge of Jesus Christ and his desires for his children.
[00:00:43] Speaker C: Good day. I'm Charmaine. Thank you for welcoming me into your space yet another day. Last time we spoke on one of the attributes of God and that was that he is everlasting. Today I will share how God is self sufficient. It means that he is independent of everything and exists without the help of anything. We will never be independent because we are dependent on what God has made. God does not need any of these things as we do. We need food, we need water, we need oxygen. But God has all that he needs in Himself. This God lives outside of the realm of time. From Himself he made the universe. He spoke the world into being. He did not create the world from anything that existed before. He said, let there be. And there was. When God appeared to Moses and commissioned him to go and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, Moses said to the Lord, when I go to the people and the asked me, who sent you? What shall I say to them? God said, tell them I am who I am. In other words, God can be whatever he wants to be. Well, what kind of name is that? God, who is the Creator of the heavens and earth, is making Himself known to us in this generation so that we would have the right concept of him and develop the relationship that he wants us to have with with him. He is making known to us his ability so that we can trust him, believe his word and know that he cannot lie and that he has the power to do what he says. God is self sufficient. In Psalms 50, verses 9 to 12 it says, I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens. For every animal of the forest is mine. And the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains and the insects in the fields are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine and all that is in it. In Exodus 3:13, 15, Moses said to God, suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, the God of your fathers has sent me to you. And they ask me, what is your name? Then what should I tell them? And God said to Moses, I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites, I am has sent me to You God also said to Moses, say to the Israelites, the Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has sent me to you. This is my name forever. The name you shall call me from generation to generation. Again, this is what he wants us to know, that he is self sufficient. So last time we learned that he is everlasting. Today God is self sufficient and we want to thank him that he's helping us to understand who he is and opening our eyes to see who he is. Because we are not asking for gifts or anything to make us great. You know, we just want to know this God who created the heavens and the earth and all that it contains so that we can serve him in the right way. And this is why God is revealing Himself to us in this season. Again, thank you for listening. Enjoy the rest of your day.
